November 20, 2021 is International Children’s Day, Unicef’s annual day of action for children by children. It’s about raising and listening to the voices of children. An appropriate day, then, to share photographic artwork created by tamariki and rangatahi at Dingwall Trust.
The pieces reflect the emotions of tamariki as they dealt with the fall out of Covid-19. They will hang in our Whānau House, a focal point of our Whānau Growth programme.
This is where tamariki living at Dingwall meet with their wider whānau and spend quality time, strengthening family bonds and dynamics. The whare needed some character on its walls and what could be more fitting than artwork reflecting how the tamariki themselves see the world.
The project falls under Dingwall’s outcome pillar or Empowerment for tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau.
